We’re also expanding into the Pembroke Dock area; you can contact us now to be at the front of the first queue when lessons commence.

Do you do manual driving lessons?

Yes, all lessons are done in a manual, dual controlled, Ford Puma mild hybrid car.

How many lessons will I need to pass the driving test?

Everybody learns at different rates so this can vary a lot, it also depends on how much private practice you are able to do. As a guide, the DVSA shows it takes an average of around 40hrs of driving lessons plus 11hrs of private practice to pass the driving test.

How much do driving lessons cost?

1 hour lessons are £40 per hour

2 hour lessons are £35 per hour

I’m very nervous about driving, can you help boost my confidence?

This is one of our specialties. Due to our calm, patient and relaxed teaching style, we can help you feel more relaxed and confident. Everything can run at your own pace, only moving on when you are ready. We also have some qualified Driving Test Nerves Specialist Instructors, who use specialist techniques to keep you calm and help you overcome driving anxiety and driving test nerves. We want to ensure you feel safe and confident.

Should I practice between lessons?

Practicing between lessons can be very beneficial. We will often give you ideas for things to practice. Take care to not take on too much and drive in situations you are not prepared for.

Do I have to pay extra for test day?

Test day is the same cost as a usual 2hr lesson. Which includes a 1hour lesson before the test.

How do I monitor my progress through the driving course?

By using our app, you can keep track of your lessons. Your progress through the syllabus can be easily seen using the progress charts.

What are the show-me tell-me questions?

During the driving test you will be given one show-me and one tell-me question.

Information on the questions can be found here: Car ‘show me, tell me’ vehicle safety questions – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

How soon can you fit me in for driving lessons?

This depends on the area you’re in. In some areas there’s a 5 to 6 month waiting list, other areas are much shorter waiting times. Waiting times are difficult to predict as people learn at different rates and spaces depend on driving test passes. Please get in touch and we can give you a more accurate idea of waiting times and get you booked in for your lessons as soon as possible.

Do you do automatic driving lessons?

We do not currently have an automatic car, so are unable to do automatic lessons.

I have a full licence, can I still have lessons?

Yes. We work with a lot of full licence holders who wanted to take additional training, to boost confidence, get rid of bad habits, and get past a fear of night driving or motorways.

I have an international licence and need to pass the UK test, can you help?

Yes. We have helped a lot of people who have moved from abroad and need to get a UK driving licence.

Can I use my own car for the driving test?

Yes, providing it satisfies the DVSA requirements, full details can be found here: Driving test: cars: Using your own car for your test – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

We recommend you use the car you feel most confident driving and give you the best chance of passing your driving test.

How long does the driving test last?

The test usually takes around 40 minutes to complete.

Do you do intensive driving courses?

No. Whilst they work well for some people, most find there is too much to take in during a very short time. The long hours of driving can be very tiring, which limits your ability to concentrate and learn.

My driving instructor gets mad and shouts at me, is this normal?

No! Having a calm, patient and relaxed instructor is the key to becoming a confident driver. Regardless of what may have happened, shouting never helps the situation.

You should never be doing anything just because your instructor told you to. You should always be encouraged to understand both how and why you are doing things.

I want to become a driving instructor – Can you help?

Yes, we offer fully qualified training for driving instructors. There’s also the opportunity to join our franchise or get business support once you’re qualified. Visit our driving instructor training website for more details.
